OAV – German Asia-Pacific Business Association
Founded in 1900 by the pioneers of German business relationships with Asia OAV is one of the most renowned business associations in Germany. The association works as a service provider and supports the business activities of member companies in the Asia-Pacific region. OAV’s corporate members include the big industrial corporations as well as medium-sized firms from all industries and located all over Germany. Industry, trade, banking and services are represented among the members.
OAV’s service portfolio covers market entry in the Asia-Pacific as well as the expansion of existing business: A broad events’ programme throughout Germany, individual consultancy by Regional Managers as well as publications and (online) information services. A core activitiy is the open exchange between the member companies during meetings chaired by experienced business representatives.
As one of the sponsors of APA, the Asia-Pacific Committee of German Business, OAV works on optimization of the basic conditions for the German business community in Asia and on intensification of mutual contacts in terms of politics and economy. Institutional relations and close co-operation with the main corporations of German business and the ministries allow for an effective representation of interest.
In Asia OAV is represented through the network of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce and Delegation Offices.
